SUMMARY:International Forum "Dialogue for Sustainable Green Development: Investing in a Common Future" Uzbekistan\, Tashkent – ​​Central Asian Green University
DESCRIPTION:The holding of the forum “International Dialogue for Sustainable Green Development: Investing in a Common Future” in Tashkent is motivated by the need to transition from isolated national strategies to Integrated Forest Landscape Management . This will enable Central Asian countries to speak with one voice\nat global forums (such as COP29 and COP30) to attract green resources. \nFurthermore\, global warming\, water scarcity\n\, and transboundary environmental challenges require the combined efforts of Central Asian countries and development partners to attract green investment and implement innovative water-saving technologies in the forestry sector. \nForum goals \nThe forum aims to create a unified regional platform\nfor exchanging experiences\, attracting resources\, and developing joint strategies for preserving and enhancing forest resources. \n  \nKey tasks: \n\nDevelopment of regional projects for the development and expansion of forests;\nAttracting grants and concessional financing\nfrom international institutions (WB\, ADB\, Green Climate Fund) for reforestation projects.\nDiscussion of the role of forests in the carbon balance and the development of the carbon credit market.\nEstablishment of a network of seed banks for Central Asian countries.\n\n  \nThematic areas (Panel sessions) \nPlenary session on the topic: Forests as a driver of a sustainable economy: international cooperation for common development: \n— mechanisms for attracting direct investment in the forestry sector; \n— carbon neutrality: creation of a regional system of forest offset certification; \n— ESG projects: partnership with the private sector (Acta Climate\, Sinoway Forest). \n— water-saving technologies: from hydrogels to intelligent drip irrigation. \n— use of satellite data and UAVs for forest inventory (in collaboration with FAO and IUFRO). \n— creation of a digital platform for seed stock exchange\, implementation of AI. \n— The role of the academic community in the implementation of projects; \n— The experience of the “Great Green Wall” (China) and its adaptation to the conditions of Aralkum and others. \n  \nParticipants \nThis forum\, organized by the Agency for the Extension of Forests\nand Green Zones and Combating Desertification under the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan\, will bring together leaders and representatives of government agencies from Central Asian countries responsible for the development and implementation of forestry\npolicy . \nIn particular\, the following are expected to participate: \n– heads of ministries and departments of Central Asian countries\, Azerbaijan\, Mongolia\, Latvia\, USA\, China\, Turkey\, Korea\, etc. \n– experts from international organizations and representatives of banks (CAREC\, FAO\, FDA\, KOICA\, JICA\, World Bank\, EBRD\, IDB\, ADB\, IFC). \n– representatives of foreign forestry research institutes. \n– investors\, representatives of the private sector interested\nin ESG projects: Acta Climate\, Sinoway Forest.
