Institutional and Human Capacity Building for Better Environmental Governance (NEAP)

Following the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) in Rio in 1992, Turkmenistan, as many other countries, has developed a National Environment Action Plan (NEAP) and established the NEAP Implementation Centre under the State Commission on Implementation of UN Conventions and Programs chaired by the Vice-Prime Minister. It also
involves the Ministry of Economy and Finance and Ministry of Nature Protection jointly to coordinate the activities of relevant ministries and institutions in implementing NEAP and in attracting investment funds.
