Almaty, Kazakhstan – On October 3-4, 2024, the second media training by Deutsche Welle Academy for young scientists and specialists in sustainable development, ecology, and climate change was held at the head office of the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC). This time, the training focused on disinformation in the media space.
8 specialists from the fields of environmental protection, education, and international relations participated in the event. They learned to recognize and expose disinformation in the media and examined strategies for combating false information.
Participants also analyzed various case studies and scenarios, and practiced giving public comments on camera. Notably, the training provided an opportunity for the participants to explore a communication strategy against disinformation in the environmental field.
The training was especially relevant given the high level of activity in today’s information landscape. Such knowledge is essential for specialists in any field to make well-informed decisions.
