Currently, the Government of Kazakhstan is working together with the countries of Central Asia and the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC) to prepare for the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC COP28), reported at a meeting of the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerlan Nysanbayev with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Kazakhstan Monika Iversen.
They discussed issues of bilateral cooperation on climate and environmental protection (with the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection of Germany, the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), and German companies).
The Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan noted the status of implementation of the programs “Regional Strategy for Adaptation to Climate Change”, “Climate Risk Management in Central Asia”, “Environmentally Oriented Regional Development of the Aral Sea Region”, etc.
