Summary
This ADBI-Asian Development Bank (ADB) session will discuss strategies for accelerating the deployment of the ADB Energy Transition Mechanism (ETM) in Kazakhstan, to take place during the KazEnergy Forum in Astana on 3-6 October 2023.
The session will draw upon ETM implementation experiences in Indonesia and other Southeast Asian countries. It will explain how the ETM is scalable and replicable, but must take into account countries’ unique characteristics to become viable.
English, Russian, and possibly Kazakh simultaneous interpreting will be provided.
Objectives
- Examine ETM implementation approaches and energy transition impacts in Kazakhstan
- Share ETM best practices and lessons learned from Indonesia and other Southeast Asian countries
- Describe the road ahead for ETM implementation in Kazakhstan
