Movses Abelian, Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations for General Assembly and Conference Management, informed journalists today in Dushanbe following a meeting with the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon.
According to him, the meeting discussed issues related to upcoming high-level conferences in Tajikistan, in particular a large conference in 2028, which will be the largest in the CIS.
“The 2028 United Nations Water Conference in Tajikistan will be comparable to the annual high-level events held in September in New York with the participation of high-level delegations from around the world,” said Movses Abelian.
Movses Abelyan emphasized that during the visit, detailed discussions of organizational and logistical issues of the conference will also take place with the relevant ministries and departments of Tajikistan.
It should be noted that within the framework of the United Nations Water Conference in Tajikistan, final comprehensive discussions will be held on the implementation of the goals of the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028”.
