Federal Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz noted the importance of cooperation with Kazakhstan in the field of water resources management, reports a correspondent of the Kazinform agency.
During Olaf Scholz’s lecture at Maqsut Narikbayev University, one of the university’s students emphasized that Germany is recognized as a leader in the field of water resources management.
— The President of Kazakhstan wrote an article called “Renaissance of Central Asia.” He emphasized the urgent need for cooperation and proper water management in Central Asia. Germany is recognized as a leader in this area. So my question is: how can Germany help Kazakhstan in the area of water management? — asked the student.
In response, the German Chancellor noted that he was aware of the problem of water shortages in the countries of Central Asia.
– When I was preparing for this visit, I knew that this is a significant problem among the Central Asian countries. In this regard, cooperation really makes sense. It is important to start as early as possible. Such a future will help us find common water resources together and not pollute them. Therefore, we need to work on this. I believe that it is through joint cooperation that we can achieve this, – answered Olaf Scholz.
Let us recall that earlier Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met Federal Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz in Akorda.
Following the talks, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz adopted a Joint Declaration on Cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Federal Republic of Germany.
Federal Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz will take part in the second Central Asia + Germany Summit, which will discuss issues of strategic cooperation and partnership in a wide range of areas, including trade and economic cooperation and the implementation of joint investment projects.
