On October 1, 2024, a meeting between the Minister of Finance Faiziddin Qahhorzoda and the Vice President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Mark Bowman was held at the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan. According to the press service of the Ministry, during the meeting, the parties discussed current issues and prospects for cooperation in the real sector of the economy, including housing and communal services, energy and transport. During the meeting, amendments to the grant agreement for the project “Restoration of the water supply and sanitation system in the Faizabad district” in the amount of 1.35 million euros were signed, as well as loan agreements for the implementation of the projects “Improvement of the water supply system in the city of Bokhtar” for 4 million euros and “Improvement of the water supply system in the Danghar district” for 4 million euros. The main goal of these projects is the construction and restoration of existing reservoirs, improvement of the quality of drinking water, its disinfection and timely provision of the population of target areas with clean drinking water. In addition, the EBRD will provide technical assistance worth €1.6 million under these projects.
