On October 4, 2024, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, received a delegation of the Board of Directors of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of Tajikistan’s cooperation with the ADB, paying special attention to supporting economic reforms, energy projects and ensuring food security. This was reported by the press service of the President of Tajikistan. Emomali Rahmon expressed satisfaction with the level of partnership between Tajikistan and ADB, emphasizing the successful implementation of joint projects aimed at the sustainable development of key sectors of the economy. The parties exchanged views on further attracting investment in priority areas – education, healthcare, irrigation, agriculture, transport, ecology, tourism, green economy and digitalization. In the context of global challenges such as climate change, they noted the need for consistent reforms to minimize risks and strengthen the sustainability of the national economy.

Particular attention was paid to increasing funding to combat the effects of climate change and implementing strategic reforms in the country.
