These days, Pre-COP29, the Preparatory Meeting of the Parties to the Convention on Climate Change, is taking place in Baku, the capital of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The delegation of the Republic of Kazakhstan is headed by the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Erlan Nysanbayev.

Kazakhstan, being a party to the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, is pursuing an active climate policy.

Pre-Cop is aimed at high-level political decisions for progress to be achieved at the 29th Conference of the Parties in November this year in Baku. The expected achievements at COP29 are issues of climate finance, the energy transition of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement and adaptation to climate change.
