Tajikistan delegation participates in the study tour “Innovative Approaches to Biodiversity Management and Conservation in European National Parks” under the World Bank’s RESILAND Tajikistan project.

They will study the experience in the sustainable management of transboundary national parks in Austria, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

The study tour will last from 26 October to 3 November 2024. It was organized within the framework of the regional component, ‘Consulting Services for Strengthening Regional Collaboration,’ implemented by the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC) under the Tajikistan Resilient Landscape Restoration Project, funded by the World Bank’s Resilient Landscape Restoration Program (RESILAND CA+).

On 26-28 October, the Tajik delegation visited the Neusiedler Si National Park. Expert Alois Lang spoke about the features of transboundary national park management, restoration and conservation of habitats of rare and endangered species, and biotope management through sustainable nature management (grazing, meadow mowing, cutting down reeds and sealing drainage ditches).

In the White Carpathians Nature Park, on the border of the Czech Republic and Slovakia, the participants learnt about innovative projects for the conservation of radiant biodiversity and fruit trees in the landscape. They also knew about restoring degraded intensively used agricultural landscapes and agroforestry development.
