On 4-5 November 2024, in Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan, the UNESCO Regional Office, within the framework of the UNESCO-UNDP-World Environment Facility Project: Building resilience in Central Asian countries through Regional cooperative capacity building on Glacial-nival system assessment for integrated sustainable development and climate change adaptation, held the second sub-regional workshop: -Development of diagnostic analysis in the cryosphere and climate change, which was attended by the management and sectorial specialists of the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
At the opening of the event, the Deputy Director of the Agency for Hydrometeorology, respected Abdullaev U.S., in his opening speech, spoke about the initiatives of the Founder of Peace and national Unity – Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, respected Emomali Rahmon on climate and water issues. In particular, he emphasized the fifth initiative of the Tajik side to declare “2025 the International Year of Glacier Protection” and invited the seminar participants to participate in the International Conference on Glacier Protection, which is scheduled for 2025 in the capital of our beloved country, the city of Dushanbe.
During this seminar, national experts reviewed the current development of the development of diagnostic analysis based on the scenarios proposed by scientists for the development of the Republic of Tajikistan, taking into account changing climatic conditions, and prepared proposals for the preparation of diagnostic analysis in the cryosphere and climate change.
