 The International Youth Network was launched on the sidelines of COP29

On November 12, as part of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 29) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) that opened in Baku, it was held an event to launch the international youth network of eco-activists Youth Climate Actions Network (YouthCAN), uniting young enthusiasts from eight countries in the region: Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Hungary and Azerbaijan. The organizers of the presentation told the ORIENT correspondent about this.

The initiative climate association also received its own multilingual digital platform, which contains information about events and projects carried out in the network member states. The website is an effective platform for raising awareness of the climate agenda and effective interaction between young activists of the joined countries.

The session also presented the Youth Statement, which is the final document of the International Eco-Camp held in Uzbekistan in the summer, in which delegates from Turkmenistan also took part.

Based on the Statement, an International Strategy for the Promotion of a Culture of Sustainable Development and the Involvement of Children and Youth in the Climate Agenda for 2024-2030 was developed, which implies active interaction and involvement of youth in decision-making processes on climate issues.
