On November 19, at the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, COP29, representatives of the public of Kazakhstan took part in the Caspian House dialogue platform.
The Ecoforum of Kazakhstan signed a Memorandum with representatives of public organizations of three countries (Azerbaijan, Russia and Turkmenistan) on the creation of the Caspian House platform. The platform will serve to unite the efforts of the public of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan in raising people’s awareness of the environmental state of the Caspian. The platform’s efforts will also be aimed at attracting wider attention to the environmental problems of the Caspian Sea basin.
As part of this cooperation, a virtual space will be created based on a portal reflecting the environmental priorities of the Caspian countries. The portal will feature a virtual museum “Green Economy of the Caspian Countries”, which will demonstrate the achievements and prospects of the countries in this area.
The purpose of the museum will be to introduce visitors to the projects implemented in the Caspian countries, as well as to the unique nature, flora and fauna of the Caspian basin. It is also expected to become an effective tool for promoting ecotourism opportunities and drawing attention to the problems in this area.
Cooperation between the Ecoforum of Kazakhstan and other partners within the framework of the Caspian House platform will continue both in a virtual format and in the format of joint events.
