On January 8-9, 2025, the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, within the framework of the project “Ensuring effective implementation of the National Adaptation Plan (NAP) for Tajikistan”, funded by the Green Climate Fund and implemented by UNDP, held a seminar on “Climate and glacier conservation: solutions for adaptation and conservation using hydrometeorological data” with the participation of representatives of the executive power of the Fayzabad district.
The event is dedicated to strategies for adaptation and mitigation of climate change in Tajikistan, where participants got acquainted with the issues of discussing national policies and frameworks for achieving a low-carbon future, opportunities to reduce emissions in various sectors, involve stakeholders in the National Adaptation Plan of Tajikistan, explore financial mechanisms to combat climate change, Tajikistan’s glaciers in the face of climate change, promote cooperation between government agencies and international partners, partnerships between the private sector and civil society in the field of action on climate change.
