Almaty, Kazakhstan – On December 2-3, 2024 the final session of a series of media trainings by Deutsche Welle Academy was held at the headquarters of the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC). The training targeted young scientists and professionals working in sustainable development, environmental protection, and climate change, and focused on social media management and combating disinformation.
During the training, 8 specialists from universities, international, and regional organizations were taught to use social media at a professional level. Trainers Katherine Wesolowski and Robin Marx shared valuable insights on effective social media management and utilization.
Special attention was also given to artificial intelligence (AI) during the training. Alongside practical tips for leveraging AI in social media work, participants gained essential skills in identifying fake photos, audio, and video materials created using AI tools.
This training equipped young specialists in Kazakhstan with enhanced skills for professional social media management, AI application, and detecting fake information published online.
