Water resources in Central Asia: Integration of scientific knowledge to support policy dialogue and climate change adaptation
The Green Central Asia Program aims to improve policy dialogue and regional cooperation in Central Asia by integrating scientific knowledge in the field of climate and water. The Tashkent Water Security Lectures (TWSL) shall serve as a platform to discuss scientific findings related to climate change and water resources in Central Asia and support policy dialogue and climate change adaptation.
Up to now, 6 series of TWSL have been organised in a hybrid format. The next and 7th TWSL is planned to be organized at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Berlin together with the five Central Asian country embassies. The embassies of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan shall be co-hosts of the event and representatives of the Green Central Asia program from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany as well as implementing partner institutes shall attend the event with their input. The program will be filled with keynote speeches dedicated to climate change and water security in Central Asia followed by input presentations by implementing partners of the Green Central Asia Program. The embassies of Central Asian countries shall join a panel discussion dedicated to the topic of TWSL.

The topic of the 7th TWSL is thus dedicated to “Water resources in Central Asia: Integration of scientific knowledge to support policy dialogue and climate change adaptation“.

The language of the 7th TWSL will be English and Russian with simultanous translation for online participants.
