Turkmenistan’s Foreign Ministry said on April 28 that key areas of the Turkmenistan-EU dialogue and development of bilateral cooperation were discussed during a video conference with European Union Special Representative for Central Asia Peter Burian and Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov.

In particular, the implementation of the new EU Strategy for Central Asia and the joint activities planned for the near future were discussed, the ministry added.

Burian and Meredov also exchanged views regarding the regional and international agenda, as well as reiterated the necessity of overall cooperation and mutual support of the countries and nations in these difficult times for the world community, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement posted on its website.

The parties viewed the opportunities of implementing joint projects linked to various fields of the national economy of our country, the ministry said, adding that Burian and Meredov also paid special attention to the need of exchanging expertise and embedding good practices in such key sectors of the economy, as agriculture, transport, energy, advanced technologies and environment protection.
