The International Environment and Climate Forum on Water “Balkhash – 2024” is aimed at uniting the efforts of civil society, scientists, cultural practitioners, government officials, business representatives, and the international community to collectively search for ways to preserve the ecosystem of Lake Balkhash and ensure sustainable development of the Ile-Balkhash transboundary basin under the conditions of climatic, environmental, social and economical challenges.

The program focuses on interdisciplinary interconnections of ecology, economy, history, and culture of the region to discuss collective actions of mitigating climate change and water scarcity, developing a green economy, and increasing investment and tourism potential of the region.

Representatives of local communities, public organizations, and media, academic experts, cultural practitioners, stakeholders, representatives of central and local government agencies, industrial enterprises, and businesses, as well as representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations, are invited to participate in the “Balkhash – 2024” forum.
