In 2024, 3 million seedlings of deciduous, coniferous, fruit trees and grapes will be planted in Turkmenistan. The decree on this was signed by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, ordering to ensure the landing:
- ministries and industry departments, hyakimliks of the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag and other institutions – 1.5 million seedlings;
- velayat hyakimliks – 1.5 million seedlings.
Ministries, industry departments, hyakimliks of velayats, the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag are instructed to ensure the planting of seedlings of fruit trees and grapes by variety on separately allocated land plots, watering seedlings of deciduous, coniferous, fruit trees and grapes using the drip irrigation method.
The Ministry of Environmental Protection is instructed to provide sufficient quantities of grape seedlings and three-year-old tree seedlings to ministries, industry departments, hyakimliks of velayats, the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag, as well as to monitor the planting and care for them.
The document was signed in order to successfully implement the National Forestry Program for 2021–2025 and transform the country into a prosperous region, TDH reports.
