The state program for the implementation of the strategy “Uzbekistan-2030” in the year of “Support for youth and business” and the draft Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on its approval have been submitted for public discussion.
The project puts forward the following proposals aimed at improving the environment:
— From March 1, 2024, in cases of a dust storm in the regions and an increase in the content of fine particles in the air above the norm, establish the practice of informing the population about the necessary preventive measures;
— Introduction of mandatory requirements to eliminate the rise of dust and sand particles into the air on the construction site of an object with an area of 500 square meters or more;
— Prohibition of movement of motor vehicles of categories N2, N3, and O4 intended for cargo transportation in the city of Tashkent with a mass of more than 10 tons during peak hours;
— Phased restriction of the operation of vehicles that do not comply with EURO-5 standards and above by 2030 in Tashkent, Nukus, and regional centers;
— Implementation of the “Day without a car” project in Tashkent on one of the working days of the month. At the same time, employees of all republican and regional executive bodies located in Tashkent will travel to work by public transport.
