Kazakhstan has been elected as a member of the Clean Technology Fund (CTF) Committee of the Climate Investment Fund (CIF) for the period from January 2025 to December 2027.
Background: The Climate Investment Funds (CIF) consists of two trust funds: the Clean Technology Fund (CTF) and the Strategic Climate Fund (SCF), each managed by a Trust Fund Committee.
The Clean Technology Fund (CTF) supports the piloting and scaling of promising low-carbon technologies in developing countries through accessible financing for projects in renewable energy, energy efficiency, sustainable transport and green industry.
Given Kazakhstan’s ambition to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060, access to transition finance is essential to enable the transition to cleaner energy sources without hindering economic development.
