On September 16 of this year, the next meeting of the Donor Coordination Council on environmental protection and climate change was held, which is coordinated by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the United Nations Development Programme.
During the meeting, environmental protection and climate change issues were discussed, and the Committee staff presented presentations and reports on the topics of “High-level event on the UN General Assembly resolution “2025 – International Year of Glacier Protection” at the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and climate negotiations”, “Organization of the International Conference on Glacier Protection in Dushanbe” and “Organization of a glacier pavilion at the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change”. Also within the framework of the meeting, the UN Development Programme and the Asian Development Bank presented presentations on the National Adaptation Plan and the NDC Climate Finance Plan.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed that the Committee would additionally submit its request to the Council members on the above issues.
