The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan signed the Decree on the National Development Plan of the country until 2029, which was approved on July 30, 2024.

This plan includes important steps for the coming years, specifically for 2024-2026, to improve the environmental situation and adapt to climate change. Key areas of work:

Reducing greenhouse gas emissions. In this area, it is planned to strengthen the emissions trading system, which will allow better control and reduction of emissions harmful to the climate.
Improving air quality. From January 1, 2025, large enterprises will be required to switch to the use of advanced environmentally friendly technologies. This means that they will have to obtain special environmental permits that require the use of the best available technologies to reduce air pollution.
These measures will help reduce the negative impact on the environment and create a healthier and safer environment for citizens.
