On 06 November in Astana (Kazakhstan) within the framework of the project ‘Integrated Watershed Management in the Ishim River Basin in Kazakhstan’, implemented by CAREC with the financial support of the Coca-Cola Foundation will be held the event ‘Rational use of natural resources as a basis for the success of sustainable business development’.

The main objective of the event is to present the project results and a summary report based on integrated water resources management activities in the Ishim River Basin, as well as other initiatives related to sustainable water resources management in Kazakhstan.

During the event, participants will be familiarised with the key results of the project implementation, which aims to introduce water saving technologies and sustainable water resources management. This will emphasise the importance of applying effective and innovative solutions to conserve water resources in the region.

In addition, the risks and key indicators of the project will be discussed. This will allow the event participants to gain a deeper understanding of the possible challenges and barriers faced by the project, as well as ways to optimise its implementation.

The event will focus on monitoring and evaluation of project performance at all stages of the project. Participants will be introduced to basic methodologies for data collection and analysis, which facilitates more informed decision-making based on real indicators.

An equally important topic will be the role of local communities, farmers and other stakeholders. The active participation of these groups in project implementation is key to achieving sustainable and long-term results. The event will create an environment to discuss their contribution and role in the project.

The event will also discuss coordination and collaboration between regional and national levels. It is important to establish effective co-operation to address common challenges in water management and environmental sustainability.

The event is expected to provide a platform for sharing experiences and identifying synergies among all participants. This will contribute to strengthening co-operation and achieving long-term results in water resources management in Central Asia.
