On 16 July in Dushanbe (Tajikistan) and on 18 July in Bukhara (Uzbekistan), the REAP project, funded by the EU SWITCH-Asia programme, is planning to hold the Final Events of the project. These events will serve as a platform to showcase the success and impact of the project by bringing together key stakeholders from the industrial sector in Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, policy makers, government representatives, industry associations, financial institutions and NGOs involved in the project. At the events, representatives of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) will present their experience of working in the project, share examples of sustainable production and consumption (SCP) practices, demonstrate the efficiency of resource saving and the financial benefits obtained through participation in the project.
Objectives:
- Showcase Project Achievements: Present the key activities and accomplishments of the REAP project in Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Highlight the positive impact of SCP practices on participating industries.
- Recognize MSME Contributions: Award certificates to participating MSMEs in recognition of their efforts and success in implementing SCP practices. Celebrate the achievements of these MSMEs and their contributions to sustainable industrial practices.
- Share Success Stories: Enable selected MSMEs to present case studies of their SCP interventions.
- Strengthen Future Commitments: Reinforce the commitment of stakeholders to continue supporting and promoting SCP practices in the region.
The REAP project is implemented by an international consortium under financial support of the European Union. The consortium comprises the National Association of Small and Medium Businesses of Tajikistan (NAMSB), the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan (CCIUz), the German Consulting Office adelphi, the Association for the Promotion of Recycling and Environmental Protection in Austria (AREC), STENUM Asia Sustainable Development Society (STENUM Asia), and the Energy and Resources Institute (TERI). The consortium is led by the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC).
