Ecology AKIpress – On December 6, the event “Post COP-29 UNFCCC and COP-16 CBD: Kyrgyzstan and the World. The Road Forward” was held in Bishkek, where the results of COP29, which took place on November 11-22 in Baku and the 16th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity, which took place in Colombia, were summed up.

As reported by the press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources, the event was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Edil Baisalov, UN Resident Coordinator in Kyrgyzstan Antje Grave, head of the Ministry of Natural Resources Meder Mashiev, special representative of the president for the development of mountain regions Dinara Kemelova, UNDP Resident Representative in the Kyrgyz Republic Alexandra Solovieva and representatives of 14 government agencies.

The participants of the event were presented with the main results of two international summits aimed at addressing global challenges related to climate change and biodiversity loss. The delegation of Kyrgyzstan, which returned from the summits in Baku (Azerbaijan) and Cali (Colombia), shared the agreements reached and presented action plans for the implementation of international obligations.
