The short documentary film “Shygys: zher, su, aua” (“East: land, water, air”) is already available on YouTube!
The film talks about current environmental issues and problems in East Kazakhstan. The authors of the film, the Adamdar/Central Asia team, visited different areas of the East Kazakhstan region. The authors met with experts, activists and local residents to explore key issues regarding the state of water and air in the region.
The film was shot as part of a joint project with the Friedrich Ebert Foundation Kazakhstan and OSCE Programme Office in Astana. Previously, offline screenings of the film took place in Almaty, Oskemen and Astana. The film can now be watched online:
