The Institute will provide objective and independent information about the ecosystem of the Caspian Sea. The data obtained will serve as the basis for the adoption of comprehensive measures by state and local executive bodies. The creation of a scientific organization will also make it possible to fully fulfill international and national obligations to preserve the Caspian Sea.

“Previously, the Head of State instructed to create a state scientific institute that will conduct research in the Caspian Sea in order to preserve the sea. Similar organizations exist in other Caspian countries. The creation of the institute will make it possible to take a comprehensive approach to the study of existing problems, solve large-scale problems, and strengthen international cooperation,” noted the Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurzhan Nurzhigitov.
