The water level has risen in the Nurek reservoir in Tajikistan. This was reported by the press service of the state energy holding Barki Tojik.

The company noted that over the past week the water level has risen by almost a meter. Previously it was 857.65 meters.

“To date, the level of the Nurek reservoir has reached 858.44 meters. These are positive changes, the water level is improving,” noted a representative of Barki Tojik.

Let us recall that in early March, snow suddenly fell in Tajikistan after an abnormally warm winter, which almost immediately led to an accident at the Nurek hydroelectric power station. As a result, the entire country was left without electricity, water and mobile communications for several hours.

After the restoration of power supply in Tajikistan, an energy limit was introduced, which lasted until the end of the month – in most areas, electricity was supplied for 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the evening, reports Sputnik Tajikistan.

In early April, during a press tour to the Nurek hydroelectric power station, journalists saw firsthand that the reservoir was practically empty, the influx of Vakhsh water remained at an extremely low level, which reduced the volume of electricity generation. According to the deputy chief engineer of the Nurek hydroelectric power station, Anvar Kiromiddinov, water reserves in the reservoir were at the level of 857 m 64 cm, which is 5 m 7 cm lower compared to the same period last year. The Nurek reservoir was only 64 cm away from reaching the dead volume level.
