Turkmenistan took part in educational events on ecology and sustainable development in Kazakhstan

From October 27 to November 1, 2024, significant educational events organized by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) were held in Almaty, Kazakhstan. As part of these events, the 3rd International Conference of Teachers, the 2nd International Festival of Schoolchildren and the 1st Climate School were held. Delegations from nine countries, including Turkmenistan, took part in the events. During the events, participants actively discussed the environmental agenda and the role of education in sustainable development.

The Turkmen delegation included three schoolchildren and three teachers who joined the international community to discuss environmental issues and the role of education in preparing for climate challenges. At the conference and festival, participants shared experiences, presented educational approaches, and proposed their ideas for environmental education.

The 3rd International Conference of Teachers brought together educators and environmental experts to discuss the role of school education in developing environmental awareness among young people. The focus was on methods to instill in schoolchildren an interest in environmental protection and a conscious attitude towards climate change. Turkmen educators presented their developments in the use of interactive environmental games and teaching aids.

The 2nd International School Festival became a platform for young participants to present their projects and ideas on environmental issues. The festival discussed topics such as reducing the carbon footprint, preserving biodiversity and protecting water resources. Turkmen schoolchildren attracted interest with their research aimed at solving pressing environmental issues.

At the 1st Climate School, schoolchildren and teachers had the opportunity to study how climate change affects the environment. The program included lectures, master classes, and excursions, where participants were able to better understand the mechanisms of adaptation to climate change.

Holding such events under the auspices of UNDP demonstrates the importance of international cooperation in the field of environmental education. The organizers express confidence that conferences and festivals will help prepare a generation capable of consciously approaching the environmental challenges of the future, as noted on the website of the Ministry of Education.
