Today, on February 14, 2024, the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic hosted National Consultations on the results of the United Nations Framework Program for Cooperation in the Field of Sustainable Development (UNDAF) in priority area III: “Climate, Environment, Energy and Disaster Risk Management”, organized by the UN Agencies in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The consultation was attended by a member of the Parliament of Kyrgyz Republic Dinara Ashimova, UN Resident Coordinator in the Kyrgyz Republic – Antje Grave, Asel Raimkulova – Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision, Monica Rizal – Deputy UNDP Resident Representative, Kuvatbek Bapaev is a technical adviser of the FAO UN in Kyrgyzstan, managers of programs and projects of the UN agencies, a specialist of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision, representatives of the CCF, non-governmental and youth organizations. CAREC was represented by Matraimov Kuban.
The purpose of the consultation is to inform all partners about the results of the UN system programmes and projects for 2024 and to receive comments and suggestions on the Work Plan for 2025 – 2026.
For information: According to the Order of the Cabinet of Ministers of 21 January 2025 No. 24-r, the United Nations System Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework in the Kyrgyz Republic for 2023-2027 will be implemented through annual joint work plans of the results-based groups. Thus, the UN system, together with national partners, is starting technical consultations with stakeholders in all four Groups to discuss the results of the joint implementation of the 2024 MTEF and to conduct consultations on the development of the 2025-2026 MTEF. The corresponding Verbal Note was sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic on 22 January 2025.
Today’s consultation meeting was the last meeting; earlier, corresponding consultations were held with relevant ministries and their specialists and experts on the other three areas.
The final document, after adaptation and additions, will be presented to the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, ministries and state agencies and other development partners.
