Astana. November 11. KazTAG – 11 billion cubic meters of water are planned to be sent to Kazakhstan by April 2025 following agreements with Central Asian countries, the press service of the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation reports.
“By April 1, 11 billion cubic meters of water are expected to flow into the Shardara Reservoir. This will allow the necessary volume of water to be accumulated for the 2025 irrigation season in the southern part of the country,” the statement said.
In addition, it was noted that the participants approved forecast schedules for the operation of reservoirs in the Syr Darya and Amu Darya river basins, as well as water supply limits for Central Asian countries for the autumn-winter period of 2024-2025.
The next, 88th meeting of the ICWC will be held in the first quarter of 2025 in Dushanbe.
