During the meeting of the President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev with a well-known eco-activist – Yevgeny Mukhamedjanov, the issues of formation of ecological culture and active involvement of citizens, non-governmental organizations and business in solving environmental problems were discussed. The President highly appreciated the ECO Network project initiated by Yevgeny Mukhamedjanov and noted the importance of such areas as Ecohab, Green Office and Green School, which contribute to the formation of a culture of attitude to the environment, as well as sorting and recycling of household waste.
According to Yevgeny Mukhamedjanov, hundreds of companies and educational institutions across Kazakhstan have already joined the ECO Network project, introducing eco-standards into business processes and contributing to the decarbonization of the economy. The President emphasized that the ecologist’s initiatives are in harmony with the ideology of the nationwide environmental action “Taza Kazakhstan”, and expressed confidence that Yevgeny Mukhamedjanov as the head of the project office “Zhasyl Almaty” will be able to effectively and creatively solve environmental problems of the city.
