In September 2024, the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC) is planning to hold the 14th Central Asian Leadership Programme on Environment for Sustainable Development (CALP).

The main thematic focus of the 14th CALP will be on water diplomacy, transboundary waters, glaciers, water management, circular economy and sustainable consumption and production practices.

Future participants of the CALP will have a unique opportunity to explore the current state of regional and transboundary cooperation, as well as various aspects of sustainable water management, to gain theoretical knowledge on the impact of climate change on glacier melting in the region.  In the last days of the programme a field trip to the Zailiyskiy Alatau mountains is planned, where the participants will study the local ecosystem and visit the Tuyuksu glacier.

CALP is a flagship initiative of the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC) undertaken since 2010 designed to improve leadership capacity of young and mid-level      professionals of various organization from governmental, non-governmental, commercial organizations           working towards sustainable development      in Central Asia

CAREC organizes the CALP with the support of international and national partners.
