The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), launched the project “Strengthening Kazakhstan’s Capacity to Comply with the Enhanced Transparency Framework under the Paris Agreement” (CBIT).

As part of the project’s launch, an introductory seminar was held in Astana to discuss the project’s concept, objectives, components, and expected results. The event, held in a hybrid format, brought together representatives of relevant government agencies, the scientific and expert community, non-governmental organizations, the private sector, and international organizations.

During the workshop, key provisions of the Enhanced Transparency Framework (ETF) in accordance with Article 13 of the Paris Agreement were presented, and the Republic of Kazakhstan’s obligations to prepare national climate reports, including biennial transparency reports (BTRs), national reports, and nationally determined contributions (NDCs), were considered.
