he prospects for constructing a waste-to-energy plant are being discussed in Tajikistan. This issue was discussed during a meeting between Bakhodur Sheralizoda, Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, and Ping Song, CEO of the Chinese company Wangneng Environment.
According to the press service of the Committee for Environmental Protection, the meeting took place on May 28 of this year. During the talks, the parties discussed the prospects for implementing a project to build a plant based on waste-to-energy technology. It is noted that negotiations are in the early stages.
Environmental and energy experts have already begun studying the technical, economic, and environmental aspects of the potential project.
The construction of the plant is expected to address one of Dushanbe’s key issues related to waste processing and disposal. According to preliminary estimates, the facility will be able to process and dispose of over 1,500 tons of waste daily. I
n addition, the project includes the generation of electricity and heat, which will partially meet the capital’s needs.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to implement a joint project.
