Dubai – UAE – COP28 Central Asia Pavilion hosted the side event “Carboneg – an ambitious climate project for Central Asia” on December 5, 2023.

The event is organized by Climate Finance Center under the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic (CFC).

Kyrgyzstan is implementing eco-friendly project Carboneg, a soil carbon sequestration project by promoting regenerative farming principles to make soil healthy again. It is very cost-effective project increasing profitability by 25%, and reduces GHG emissions by up to 80%, and significantly improves soil resilience to drought and heavy rainfall.

Carboneg operates in 10 countries on 4 continents on more than 200,000 hectares.

This is an ongoing project in Kyrgyzstan that is beginning its work also in Kazakhstan and plans to scale up to other Central Asian countries.
