As part of the implementation of activities to conduct the “National Forest Inventory” in accordance with the Forest Management Plan of the Republic of Tajikistan, a training session was held in Dushanbe on April 11-12, 2025. The event was organized by the State Unitary Enterprise “Aerogeodesia” together with Umweldata GmbH.
    

During the training, Deputy Director of the State Unitary Enterprise “Aerogeodesia” Akmal Abdurahmonzoda outlined the goals and objectives of the training. Also, the coordinator of the project “Sustainable Landscape Management in the Republic of Tajikistan” Solijon Mirzoev emphasized the importance of state forest inventory for the sustainable development of the country.
Experts from Umweldata GmbH presented modern methods of measuring forest areas using laser scanners. Participants received practical skills in taking measurements and determining key points for analyzing forest conditions. Participants were shown how to use the equipment correctly.

Following the training, two working groups were formed, which have already conducted an inventory on the territory of the Tigrovaya Balka Nature Reserve. In the future, it is planned to create four more groups, mainly from students of the Tajik Agrarian University named after Sh. Shotemur.


On April 23, 2025, a reporting meeting was held, at which the Deputy Director of the Forestry Agency under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan expressed satisfaction with the results of the work. Umweldata GmbH specialists provided the results of the inventory and discussed the identified deficiencies in cartographic data and accounting methods.
State Unitary Enterprise Aerogeodesia will continue training on the implementation of national forest inventory measures, which is an important step towards sustainable management of Tajikistan’s natural resources.
