Hydrogeology as the Key to a Sustainable Future: Water Resources Management to be Discussed in Astana
On April 3, a panel session will be held in Astana as part of the GEOSCIENCE & EXPLORATION CENTRAL ASIA 2026 forum.
“The Role of Hydrogeology in Sustainable Water Resources Management.”
The session will take place from 09:00 to 10:30 in the plenary hall.
The focus is on water security in Central Asia, modern approaches to resource management and regional cooperation.
Confirmed speakers include:
— Nurzhan Nurzhigitov, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
— Malis Absametov, director of the Institute of Hydrogeology and Geoecology named after. MIND. Ahmedsafina;
— Dulat Kalitov, head of the research center for applied hydrogeology at Satpaev University.
Participation of international experts is also expected.

The forum will be held on April 2–3 in Astana.
