As part of the work of the Regional Network on Chemical Safety, POPs and Obsolete Pesticides “ToxicNet” and with the aim of increasing the capacity of stakeholders, a regional online training on “Persistent Organic Pollutants and Pesticides: From Threats to Safe Practice” will be held on September 12, 2025. The event will become an important platform for professional dialogue, knowledge exchange and the formation of regional cooperation between representatives of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan – countries actively involved in the implementation of international obligations in the field of chemical safety and sustainable pesticide management. The key objective of the event is to improve the knowledge and practical skills of specialists involved in the management of persistent organic pollutants and obsolete pesticides.

The training program includes:

speeches by leading regional experts;

presentation of national achievements within the framework of the FAO/GEF project;

review of international and regional regulatory documents;

practical tasks;

a final discussion aimed at developing agreed recommendations for improving policies and practices in the area of ​​POPs and obsolete pesticide management.
