Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov noted the need to support Kyrgyzstan’s initiative to exchange external debt for projects aimed at climate and sustainable development

The working visit of President Sadyr Japarov to the Republic of Uzbekistan, which took place on April 3-4, has ended .

On the same day, Sadyr Japarov met with the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

On the second day of the visit, April 4, the head of state spoke at a meeting of the First Central Asia – European Union Summit in Samarkand.

The event was attended by the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

In his speech, Sadyr Japarov noted with satisfaction the steady growth of trade and economic ties between the countries of Central Asia and the European Union and emphasized that Kyrgyzstan’s strategic geographical position and its growing transit potential open up broad prospects for trade and investment.

The President then spoke at the international forum “Central Asia in the Face of Global Climate Threats: Solidarity for Common Prosperity.”

The head of state also noted the need to support Kyrgyzstan’s initiative to exchange external debt for projects aimed at climate and sustainable development.
