Kyrgyzstan advances 650 MW of solar and wind projects

 

QAZAQ GREEN. Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Energy briefed a parliamentary committee on industrial policy, transport, fuel and energy, architecture and construction on the implementation of renewable energy projects in the country, Bulak.kg reported.

Energy Minister Taalaibek Ibraev said that 13 investment agreements have been signed to build wind and solar power plants with a combined capacity of 650 MW, while several large-scale projects are now entering the active phase.

“On December 24, 2025, a 100 MW power plant was commissioned in the Kemin district of the Chui region. In addition, a Vietnamese company has begun construction of a 1,900 MW solar power plant covering 2,116 hectares. The company Unigreen plans to commission another 300 MW in 2026. A 100 MW wind farm by Rosatom is also being prepared for launch,” he said.

The minister noted that all renewable energy projects contribute to diversifying the country’s energy mix, improving energy efficiency and strengthening environmentally clean power generation in Kyrgyzstan.
