The Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation was signed between the Center for Emergency Situations and Disaster Risk Reduction and the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia on 27 May at CACCC-2024.

The purpose of the Memorandum is to establish cooperation in disaster risk reduction.

The Memorandum provides for the development and implementation of joint regional and international programs and projects in disaster risk reduction, adaptation to climate change and mitigation of its consequences. The Memorandum also covers cooperation in the fight against climate change, water depletion, desertification, dust storms, land degradation and drought.
