Position: Coordinator on development of the Regional One Health Action Plan(s) / Regional Specialist

Objective of the Assignment

To support the implementation of the regional One Health project by coordinating thematic consultants, leading the development of strategic regional documents, overseeing analytical and regulatory assessments, ensuring regular communication and reporting, and facilitating stakeholder engagement to operationalize the One Health approach in Central Asia.
Scope of Work

1. Coordination of the work of thematic consultants

一   Leading the implementation of the Action Plan, coordinating all activities within the project components.

一   Ensure quality, timely deliverables with technical inputs of thematic consultants

2. Strategic Document Development

一   Development of the Regional One Health Action Plan (analysis, consultations, drafting, endorsement).;

一   Development of the Regional Laboratory Network Collaboration Strategy;

一   Development of methodologies and reports on regional risk assessments for zoonoses, antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and food safety.

3. Coordination of Analytical Activities

一   Coordinate regional risk assessment on priority threats (zoonoses, AMR, food safety);

一   Coordinate cross-country reviews of laws and regulations relevant to One Health operationalization;

4. Reporting and Communication

一   Leadership and organisation of regional consultations, seminars and high-level meetings, ensuring their productivity and focus on results.

一   Prepare reports, policy briefs, and content for the One Health Information Portal.

一   Ensure timely donor reporting and support regional consultations/meetings

5. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Knowledge Management

一   Collect and report M&E indicators (including gender/sector data).

一   Maintain project documentation and progress tracking.

一   Contribute to knowledge products (case studies, best practices, policy notes).

Qualification

一   At least 7 years of experience in regional coordination, policy development, or public health/environmental programs.

一   Strong technical knowledge of the One Health approach, including zoonotic diseases, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), food safety, and ecosystem health.

Education

一    Advanced university degree in public health, veterinary science, environmental science, or related fields.

Skills and Competencies

一    Strong experience in managing consultants and intergovernmental coordination.

一    Fluent in English and Russian (spoken and written).
