In order to implement the Paris Climate Agreement, the Central Asian countries are pursuing an active climate policy: national communications and reports on climate change are being developed, commitments are being updated, and policies and measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to climate change are being implemented in practice.

In this activity, public organizations of Central Asia, members of CAN, do not remain on the sidelines; they implement effective projects involving local communities, work is carried out to disseminate climate knowledge and information, in a number of countries, organizations are involved in the development of adaptation plans and the activities of official working groups on NDC-3 (updated commitments of countries to implement the Paris Agreement), which must be submitted by countries to the Secretariat of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in 2025.

The Regional Meeting in Almaty was called to assess the participation of CAN members in the implementation of regional and national problems, to strengthen their capabilities and potential for participation in effective advocacy on climate policy issues.
