Sadyr Japarov approved the Concept of Environmental Security of Kyrgyzstan until 2040

Ecology AKIpress – President Sadyr Japarov, by decree dated March 27, 2025 No. 105, approved the Concept of Environmental Safety of Kyrgyzstan until 2040.

The concept was approved to ensure the security of the individual, society and the state from challenges and threats in the field of climate change, environmental protection and natural resource management, taking into account that environmental security is an integral part of the country’s national security.

He also approved:

– Action plan of the first stage for the period 2025-2029 for the implementation of the Concept of Environmental Safety;

– The matrix of indicators of the first stage for the period 2025-2029 for the implementation of the Concept of Environmental Safety.

The ministries, administrative departments and the National Academy of Sciences, the plenipotentiary representatives of the president in the regions, the mayor’s offices of the cities of Bishkek and Osh, and local state administrations are instructed to:

1) to carry out, on an ongoing basis, coordination and monitoring of the timely and complete implementation of the Concept of Environmental Safety and the Action Plan by state bodies and local government bodies responsible for their implementation;

2) ensure the implementation of the provisions of the Environmental Safety Concept and the Action Plan within the established timeframes;

3) annually, no later than February 10 of the year following the reporting year, provide information on the progress of the implementation of the Action Plan to the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision.

The Ministry of Natural Resources will annually report on the progress of the Action Plan implementation to the Presidential Administration.

The decree comes into force 10 days after the date of official publication (Erkin Too newspaper, March 28, 2025, No. 23).
