The Coca-Cola Foundation (TCCF), in partnership with the Global Environment and Technology Facility (GETF), has launched a new platform called the Partnership for a Circular Economy Future (PACT).
The Coca-Cola Foundation (TCCF) and the Global Environment and Technology Facility (GETF) have launched a new platform called “Partnership for a Circular Economy Future (PACT)”. The program, which will be an important step towards a sustainable future, aims to address pressing environmental issues related to plastic waste management by supporting local initiatives and organizations. The official launch of the program took place in Istanbul with the participation of project partners, scientists, representatives of non-governmental organizations, waste management companies and the media.

With a US$1 million seed fund, the EU is investing in innovative waste reduction models and technologies.

The initiatives aim not only to scale up plastic recycling businesses to spur circular economy innovation, but also to support the rights of those who are part of the waste and recycling value chain. Grants ranging from $100,000 to $400,000 have been awarded to local NGOs, social enterprises and start-ups. You can learn more about the project here .
In 2025, Uzbekistan became one of five countries, along with Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, where the first phase of a large-scale initiative was launched.
“Supporting waste collection and recycling initiatives is one of the key priorities of the Coca-Cola Company, in this area we build partnerships and launch practical solutions. PACT is not just a program, but a long-term platform for change that allows us to combine global experience and local solutions. We are proud that Uzbekistan has become part of this important initiative and believe that through joint efforts we can make a significant contribution to building a sustainable environment,” said Nazi Aripjanova, Director of Government Relations, Communications and Sustainable Development for Coca-Cola in Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.

In Uzbekistan, PACT’s partner is the Wasteless startup , which was launched with financial support from the Coca-Cola Foundation in 2021. The startup’s main goal is to collect PET bottles and send them for recycling. The startup’s key tool is the Wasteless mobile app, which enables restaurants and other market participants to sell sorted waste directly to recyclers. This reduces storage and transportation costs, encourages separate collection, and increases the transparency of the recycling process. Thanks to this approach, the level of environmental pollution is reduced, cities become cleaner, greener and more comfortable for residents of the country, and the principle of a circular economy is supported.
