Particular attention was paid to the possibilities of expanding cooperation between Turkmenistan and UNEP in developing the “Caspian Environmental Initiative”. This proposal was put forward by the President of Turkmenistan at the 78th session of the UN General Assembly.

Inger Andersen thanked the Turkmen side for the invitation to participate in the Regional Conference on Food Security in the Context of Climate Change, which is scheduled for November in Turkmenistan.
