The competition is being conducted in accordance with Presidential Decree No. 16, “On the State Program for the Implementation of the Uzbekistan — 2030 Strategy in the Year of Environmental Protection and “Green” Economy.” The contest will take place in two stages: the district (city) stage from 24 November to 12 December 2025, and the regional stage (in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the regions and the city of Tashkent) from 15 to 19 December 2025. Teams representing parks, squares, alleys and green areas will be formed from pupils of local general education schools; each team will consist of eight participants.

The eco-marathon comprises three tests. The first, “Ecology Expert,” consists of ten ecology-themed questions. The second requires teams to prepare and publish articles addressing the problem of waste prior to the start of the competition. The third is a practical task in which teams demonstrate plant-care skills. All stages will be assessed on site at each park, square or green area.

The eco-marathon aims to develop the intellectual potential of young people in the field of the green economy, to cultivate teamwork skills, and to raise awareness of environmental protection and ecological issues.
